The host, Daniel, was great!! He was proactive, helpful, and made check-in and check-out simple! This is a very nice place; there is a lot of attention to detail, with very nice finishes and decor. Excellent location, too-close to many restaurants & shopping. We can’t wait to come back in warmer weather to enjoy the water!!

I’ve had the pleasure of staying at this location before and I absolutely enjoyed it the first time and I enjoyed it even more the second time around the setting our town accommodations and tranquility are hard to be. I highly recommend this genie one traveling in this area.

The area was peaceful and relaxing and the view of the river was stunning. We enjoyed sitting outside in the evenings by the fire. The host was communicative and proactive. Beautiful location and great host. Fire pit and grill are brand new. Daniel is a very responsive host. My dog locked me out one night and Daniel was there within the hour to let me back in. I visit this area often and will be staying at Daniel’s place when I come back.

We love staying on the Ohio River, and our stay at Daniel's place was perfect for a special weekend. We spent mornings and evenings on the deck and appreciated the covered pergola when it rained. My husband was a fan of the brand-new shower.

What an absolutely gorgeous location- it was a special treat to get to be so close to the river. I loved eating my meals out on the deck just watching the barges go by. I appreciated the thoughtful touches throughout the house and the easy communication. It was a very peaceful and easy experience all the way around. I will definitely be back!

Staying at a place on the Ohio River never disappoints, this trip was just what we needed. This is a great little place on the river. The views and outdoor space were perfect for us. The house was great had everything we needed. Would stay here again!

I rented this house to be near the water. The deck with the pergola was perfect. The speaker system was the special addition to a peaceful, calm several days on the bank of the Ohio river. Perfect setting for me. I used the kayaks to kayak to nearby hiking trails and felt safe to ride my bike or walk if I wanted. But I spent one entire day just hanging out on the deck watching the river action. Peaceful and enjoyable.

Did not stay! Immediately requested refund! Expected a nice place on the river for our 21st wedding anniversary, what we walked into looked like something out of a horror film! The photos are very deceiving, it’s the behind the scenes that was horrific! This is a “handyman special” house and not done with any type of knowledge! Holes in doors, exposed wiring, exposed dirty pipes, a countertop with a huge gap unseamed in a poor excuse for a tiny unusable kitchen, in the laundry room, there’s a huge mess of junk beside the washer/dryer, there’s a window ac unit because the ac didn’t work. The thermostat was reading 80° when we entered. There was a stack of lumber laying beside the “house”, there’s “pergola” was in shambles, there’s very little yard to be a “pet friendly home”. Daniel is rude, obnoxious and obviously someone with no integrity. He only wanted to communicate privately instead of through the app, which is odd dealing with air bnb. Should absolutely not be an air bnb rental.

Our family of 6 had a wonderful time. The home feels spacious. The beds are comfy. We grilled dinner, played provided boardgames and enjoyed time on the patio. Everything you need for a reset from the business of life.

Had a great time relaxing at The Riverside Retreat. Interesting area, beautiful part of the river. It is in a nice town with great restaurants away from the noise. Spent my daughter’s 22nd birthday there and had to pry her away. Coffee with the birds outside is a must. Daniel has great communication and keeps more than adequate supplies around. Eat at Captains Quarters!

Really great place to stay right on the Ohio river. Beautiful sunsets and enjoyable view watching the large and small boats go up and down the river. Good access to get in the water to swim or kayak if you enjoy that. Also adequate room to fish from the dock. Very nice outdoor patio with fire pit, and lawn/deck chairs.

Beautiful spot right on the river, with plenty of space out back for our dogs. The gazebo was our favorite place to relax and hangout. There are plenty of amenities as well. Daniel was very responsive and overall a great host. Absolutely would come back again!

A little expensive for what it is. The host is very responsive and considerate. He allowed me to check in early to decorate and surprise my husband. There was also an issue that he offered a discount for. All in all, would book with him again.

Came to town for my youngest daughter's wedding festivities. Trying all day to make sure everything is as perfect as possible for the young bride to be was a tall order to fill - having the peace and tranquility of this space to retreat to each evening was exactly what I needed to recharge and be ready for the next day.Great host. A beautiful spot to enjoy the river.

Good location, great view, place had just been flooded from storms so a couple things were out of sorts from that which I wish had known ahead of time.

This property was flooded before our arrival. The owner stated the water had come up over the property's roof. He did not inform us until our arrival.He did not give us an option to decide to cancel our reservation instead he tried to"fix" it before our arrival and expected us to stay when it was not ready at all. He also became irritated when we expected to arrive at the time listed at 4:00 because he wasn't even done getting it ready. We could see that he had tried hard but there was still a moving pod in the front yard along with numerous trash around the outside of the house that had not been hauled away. We did try to stay because we saw he had put in an effort of trying to make it nice but it was like living in a damp basement. It had an awful smell and it felt very unclean. Water began to seep up into the floor and we could not go barefoot because we felt like we would be stepping in water. We were afraid there may be black mold growing in areas that we could not see. To top it all off there was no hot water. We contacted him about this as soon as we found out but he did not reply to us. By this time it was late on the first evening so we stayed. In the morning we had to scramble to find somewhere else. We expected to get a full refund since this really ruined a family get together with my sisters and started our weekend off terribly. Although he refunded some of our money, we never received a full refund which is very disappointing. This was a terrible experience.

The Riverside retreat was an excellent home away from home. Comfortable beds. All the amenities you could want or need. And a beautiful view of the river from the living room. Also a nice outdoor area which would be great for relaxing in the warmer months. A nice grill and kayak available as well. Would definitely stay here again. It was close to everything we needed in Prospect and Louisville but still off the beaten path so it was quiet and peaceful as well. Would definitely stay here again.

Perfect place for a summer or spring getaway. Not the fault of the host but we were there on the coldest days of winter. But the unit was warm and inviting after being out in the cold. Daniel even came and cleared the side walk of snow and ice.

The space is thoughtfully outfitted with all essentials and has comfortable furnishings. My dog and I enjoyed exploring the neighborhood and embracing the quiet season. Our host, Daniel, was attentive and responsive to all requests. We will definitely be back!

My wife and I stayed at Daniel’s place for two nights to enjoy a peaceful getaway. It accomplished that and more! The view is beautiful from the pergola. We spent hours just resting there and enjoying the view. The location is great. Private and peaceful. The house itself was a bit small but it had everything we needed. You can tell Daniel has put a lot of work into the house. We would certainly consider staying again.

Beautiful setting (close neighbors, but friendly), spot on listing of amenities, comfortable bed . . . we were happy and pleased. I could not give it a five star rating, because 5 star is pristine. This place is cozy, but not pristine. There was one place where a chink was out of the cement wall; a place where the floor did not meet the door frame; missing edge to a kitchen counter. Cozy and nice, but not “perfect”. Would I recommend you stay here? Absolutely . . . the river view from the pergola outweighs any inside quirks!

The location is amazing and Dan was so easy to work with. The house was clean and had what we needed. Some of the dishes were dirty and the grill could use a cleaning of the grates. Otherwise we really enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

The photos of the backyard and patio actually don’t do justice to the beautiful view of the Ohio River and the amazing covered deck where we could watch the barges go by quietly while the rain fell from above. We loved our stay and Daniel was the perfect host.

Daniel was very responsive and made himself available the entire duration of our stay. His wife left her purse and he was very prompt on picking it up and not interrupting our stay.

Review is not to deter others but to give an honest understanding of the place. Pros: Off the beaten path/quiet. Inside was clean. Cons: place felt like a slightly upgraded summer camp cabin, could use maintenance. Party of 3, felt very cramped w/clutter + space (hard to set anything down all tables/dressers/stands had decorations on them - spent our time out of the house). Pictures for listing are deceiving. Failed to notice master bedroom is not fully private-has big window cutout divided by curtain. Failed to notice no dining area. Towels/linens from previous guests were left in the dryer. Host made an unexpected visit first day, alarming + a bother, his car blocked ours, couldn’t leave until he did. Host chooses to only communicate outside of the Airbnb platform which I find off putting + solicits his other business everywhere in the house. Came to vacation not to be bombarded w/biz ads . Backyard was unusable-patio, rug+ furniture were filthy. Dog poop in backyard(no pets).

What an amazing view of the Ohio River! It was a great place to be with the outdoor seating nearly doubling the space. We loved eating outside, watching the sunset, and having late-night chats under the starry sky. Daniel was proactive and the whole experience was great. I would definitely recommend people looking for a relaxing stay to pick this spot.

This spot is great, with a friendly owner and a quiet yet convenient location near town and Louisville. The area has a mix of classic and new riverfront homes. Though it was cooler during my stay, the yard and pergola looked nice. The bedrooms are comfortable, and the back room with a TV and pull-out couch was just what we needed. It was a good base for our road trips and relaxing. It's probably great in summer, too. Nearby, within 5-10 minutes, there's Starbucks, great sushi, a nice breakfast place, and other many other stores. Distance to live shows in Louisville was easy to navigate.

OVERALL & LOCAL AREA Looking for a quiet getaway, retreating from the fast pace world, and beaten path, this is your stay. River view is very serene. Not many local activities if you love things to do but it is not far from other small towns with a little more to offer. There is an AMAZING natural park less than 5 minutes away by the library. It lends for a great hike and sightings of nature's finest creatures (dear, turtle, butterfies, etc). HOUSE Weather permitting outside amenities are available. It mostly rained for my stay but it was still good. I believe warm days would great for more outdoor things. The house has basic TV, great books, and cool games if staying indoors. A lil smaller than perceived from photos, yet still very cozy and lots of good space. Great hospitality! Thanks Daniel!

Daniel’s place was great. It was a relaxing stay for me and my mom. The shower is awesome. The view outside the back door is amazing. Just what you need for a relaxing getaway!

Peaceful get away! There is something magical when you can say the river is part of your backyard! Daniel’s house was very clean, had a nice big smart tv, speakers, plenty of games, and an amazing view. Loved the Peloton in the main bedroom and a desk in case you have to work. WiFi is very good. Plenty of towels in every room and bathroom. The 2nd bedroom has a nice closet with hangers. Best feature inside the house is the shower. Could have stayed there forever. The bed is very firm and people who like hard beds will enjoy it. Daniel was extremely accommodating, helpful, flexible and communicative. Would love to return and stay longer, enjoy the outside and use the kayaks.

Absolutely charming! The place is cozy and comfortable. The surroundings are quiet, yet bustling with herons, ducks and barges going by on the river. Btw Bully’s BBQ nearby is some of the best we’ve had. We even went back the second night for more!

Stunning view, dog, friendly, and, very comfortable beds! Felt safe. Even though the kitchen does not have an oven, if you plan, accordingly, you have everything you need. Crockpot, air fryer, burners for cooking and, a gas grill. Will keep this one on my AIRBNB rotation!

Daniel’s place was wonderful! Everything was as expected and the view is amazing ! The place was clean and neat. We went in to Louisville and Jeffersonville, IN and it was a quick ride there from Daniel’s place. We wanted to rest and go at our own pace and we were able to do just that. Great view and a very cozy stay. Loved being able to sit out on the gazebo and enjoy the crisp mornings with the fire. I recommend this house as a getaway for couples or small families. There are kayaks and vests provided. Aside from the occasional boat or plane, it is a very quiet area.

I didn't want to leave! We stayed for 5 nights, and it was perfect. I had my family stay for a few nights and other members pop in for a visit and they all loved it too. The location is so peaceful, and I enjoyed both the indoor and outdoor space a lot. The couch is so comfy, I actually asked where he purchased it, so I could go home to CA, and buy one lol. The entire space is inviting and has a cozy cottage like vibe. Can't wait to stay again!

We very much enjoyed our stay on the riverside despite the scorching August heatwave. The backyard looking out on the River is beautiful. We had planned to go kayaking, but 5 days prior to our stay I had to have an emergency appendectomy so I was unable to get in the water or really use my core to row around. I was super sad about that along with some other limitations I had, but relaxing and resting here was wonderful. The neighborhood is very quiet, every person we came across on our stay was so nice. We checked out The Drift Bar nearby and it was very neat, it floats on the water! We also ate at a few great local spots and cooked out on the gas grill at the house. The fans on the deck under the pergola were super helpful in the blistering heat and it was beautiful watching the sunrise and sunset over the water. The house was clean and exactly as described. I would only suggest more coffee mugs and some larger bowls in the kitchen. Daniel is very responsive, our stay was seamless!

Nice little getaway. The house was clean and furnished nicely. We were able to enjoy the outdoor pagoda. With the temps in the mid 90’s this week we were extremely grateful for the fans in the pagoda. Daniel was a great host. He was in contact with us the day of arrival and departure to make sure we were good and that everything was ok at the house. All in all it was a nice, PEACEFUL little place. Highly recommended! We absolutely LOVED this listing! First, Daniel was quick with his communications, gave us personalized recommendations for local restaraunts & farmer's markets, and was always ready to answer any questions we had. The property is charming. Felt like going to stay at a friend's house-lived in, not stuffy. All ammenities were there as listed. It is a block home and we found the exposed concrete interesting & quite textural. The bathroom is lovely with SO MANY TOWELS. Plus, the kitchen was well appointed. Cookware, utensils, dishes & glassware. There were also tons of cleaning supplies & little extras throughout. We appreciated the thoughtfulness of extra toiletry items, kleenex, extra blankets, etc. Even though no oven or traditional stove, we were easily able to cook our meals. The bed was very comfy and pillows were more than adequate. TV was great, WiFi good & lots of games/books to fill in free time. Sunsets were great-even saw some deer! FYI-no streetlights so the drive is dark.

This small cottage on the was very nice. It was in a great location located right on the Ohio River. The property included a huge dock where we were able to tie up our jet skis for the weekend. The inside was recently remodeled and very modern. The cottage had a clean cozy feel, and the outdoor sitting area was lovely with amazing views of the river. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would recommend this place to anyone looking for a getaway.

Nice place on the Ohio River. Unfortunately, we really didn't have much of an opportunity to enjoy the setting since we were in town with our daughter to check out college campuses so we spent very little time at the house itself. The place was clean and wi-fi worked much to the delight of my daughter.
